The last couple of days have been not so great for my family. We are all sick with a painfully lingering flu. Mommy wasn’t insistent that flu shots were necessary..but boy am I regretting it now.
It is only wednesday and I have:
- Not used a coupon.
- went to Rite Aid and CVS for medicine with no ECB’s or UP rewards.
- Broke our weekly grocery budget in take out.
- finally found a reason to use the
scratchyfree toilet paper from Rite Aid. (as extra filling for my boys diapers, because they have explosive uh..stuff coming out of their diapers)
So..yes, I paid full price for medicine this week. It wasn’t painful because I know the end result would mean a ok-happy momma

My Name is Josie and I live in sunny Southern California and I am a stay at home mom to three beautiful boys. We all know that living in California is a task of it's own and saving in California IS possible! I started this blog mainly to share all the awesome deals out there and show others how to save in any area of life. Even though you may make the commitment to be frugal and pinch your pennies doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice!
Hope you and your family gets better soon!
Oh no! I hope you all get better soon!
I hope you all feel better soon! I know quite a few Moms who give their kids flu shots every year like clockwork and get waaaaay sicker way more often then we do (we don’t do flu shots either). Sending healthy vibes your way!
I hope you all feel better soon.
Its so rough when the little ones are sick too.
Hope you feel better Josie! Thank you for keeping up w/ your blog even though you & your family are sick. My family has never had flu shots before until this year. My baby was due in Oct so I insisted everyone get flu shots & the pertusis shot so we wouldn’t get the baby sick. I had to take 4 boys in twice to get their shots (1st time to get a flu shot = they have to get 2 doses). Well everyone except me & the baby got the flu. Next year I am skipping the shots! It’s not easy sitting in an office for 2 hrs to get shots w/ 4 boys (12,4,3,& 1at that time!). Thanks for everything you do!
ok so you had a brain fart when you posted that about the diaper, we’ve all had those before as well. thats why its so important to read what youve written as your readers would , before you click the enter button. We are big fans and love your site but you’ll be forgiven . Dont hide from fgacebook though, delete the whole post if you dont like the response, I sure would . And remember some things are just TMI and should be kept private.
Hi Tommy! I do appreciate your comments but remember that not everyone takes things the same way. Thanks!
Hi Tiki Tommy! Josie’s post made me laugh…and of of my favorite things about this blog is how “real” she is. As a mom, I, as well as I’m sure many others, can relate to her post about sick kids and “blowout” diapers. Josie…keep keepin’ it real! That’s what makes this blog fun and different!
Tommy, are you the same douche who made the taco comment? If you can’t handle vomit & dh maybe you shouldn’t be playing on the internets. Josie, keep up the good work!
I thought the diaper thing wasn’t bad, but on the other hand, not to be mean or anything, …..
If you weren’t planning on using the free toilet paper, don’t you think you should have left it on the shelf for the next person who would be more than greatful to take it home and use it regardless of the quality? again, im sorry, don’t mean to be rude.
(cuz from what i read back in that week, stores were wiped out instantly)
Hey Amy! No offense taken, I only grabbed a couple and my store was fully stocked. Besides, I would have never known the quality if I didn’t give it a try first
Hi Josie,
I agree with Kara. I think your hilarious and so real. All of us mom’s know life is messy. Keep up the good work. We all love you.
