So–I’m really disappointed. When the new Albertsons coupon policy was released–I Specifically emailed Albertsons customer Service to ask about the Southern California Coupon Policy. I was told how to obtain this and I brought the info back to all of you. WELL, now it looks as though I was given the wrong info–and the coupon policy has now been updated to show the differences of the Intermountain West Divison–and the Southern California and Nevada Divisions.
Sadly–it is not as great as we hoped. The main difference is that there is no overage allowed.
Also, it does not state anything about using BOGO coupons on BOGO sales. I personally have never had an issue with this–but it just means that there is nothing in print to back us up at the register.
Here is how you see the policy for yourself:
- Head on over here
- go to the “customer Service” link at the top right hand corner
- find the Southern California Coupon Policy link
- You should be able to print a copy for yourself.
I know some of you are probably upset about this..I am too. Just remember that it is what it is

My Name is Josie and I live in sunny Southern California and I am a stay at home mom to three beautiful boys. We all know that living in California is a task of it's own and saving in California IS possible! I started this blog mainly to share all the awesome deals out there and show others how to save in any area of life. Even though you may make the commitment to be frugal and pinch your pennies doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice!

I ran into an issue yesterday when I tried to use a cents off coupon with my BOGO coupon. The cashier said that it wasn’t permitted, but it doesn’t address it in the policy. Has anyone else had problems like this?
I do not understand why Albertson’s has 2 different coupon policies. Albertson’s can clarify the BOGO policy with the Northwest area but not Nevada and S. Calif. They will explain Catalinas in one policy but not the other. But I really don’t know why the Northwest can have overage. But we cannot. Is there more competion in the NW then here? Even Von’s allows overage. I like shopping at Albertson’s and have not had major problems with them about coupons I just wish they would be fair.
I had a problem with it as well, I was told that albertsons does not give items away for free….. this is what the cashier told me. I told her that I have gotten lots of item for free using coupons. I tried to explain that the store is reimbursed….yada yada… you put the price of the BOGO. She wouldn’t do it. So annoying that I couldn’t tell her that the policy says you can do them… cus it isn’t in there.
