Christmas time is here! Living on a budget can sometimes be hard especially right around the holidays. Sometimes it is especially hard to find a “budget” for Christmas and the festivities that it involves.
Here is one simple way to save for Christmas–just for searching the web. I suggest starting now–so by the time next year comes around–you will have enough saved to help make a good sized dent in your Christmas fund!
What the heck is Swagbucks?
Swagbucks is a search engine (like Google) that pays you to use it by awarding you points for searching the web. In return–you can score gift cards to Amazon, Target, CVS, and more! For the past two years–I personally have used Swagbucks to cash in on Amazon Gift cards. This has made for a great little Christmas fund for the kiddos and I don’t have to worry about making too much room for my already tight budget.
You won’t get rich using Swagbucks but in the year that you have–you should make a fair amount depending on how much you use it.
Tips for using Swagbucks:
- Use Swagbucks as your search engine–Every time you use the internet to search — you have a chance to score up to 500 Swagbucks!
- Keep your eyes peeled for Swag codes! I often post Swagcodes here on Southern Cali Saver– Swag codes are special codes that you can score for FREE Swagbucks! I can’t tell you the code outright–but I will point you in the right direction!

My Name is Josie and I live in sunny Southern California and I am a stay at home mom to three beautiful boys. We all know that living in California is a task of it's own and saving in California IS possible! I started this blog mainly to share all the awesome deals out there and show others how to save in any area of life. Even though you may make the commitment to be frugal and pinch your pennies doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice!
Yea i am addicted to it i get on it twice a day and got up to 5000 swagbucks and then i was getting ready to finally buy some Christmas presents andbuy the Amazon gift cards to do so and here you can only buy 5 gift cards a month!! That didnt help me a darn bit! Nobody mentioned that!! Oh well i have learned and will know for next year! Also I was wondering though once you buy them do they only last so long (do they expire?)Cause i figure once Jan rolls around here I will buy my 5 ea month and be set for next Christmas! Thanks for all you do Josie! You are awesome!
Great points Julie- thanks for mentioning. I went to purchase my first $5 Amazon gc’s and learned the same thing, except that was in late Nov so I could still purchase 5 more as it was Dec in just a couple of days.
I’d like to know also if they expire- Josie, do you know? Thank you for the post!
quick ? once you redeem ure points for a giftcard do the gift cards expire? how long do you have to use ure giftcard. also, how do you get the giftcards: via email or snail mail?
