Is the Colgate a moneymaker?

Hi! I was at RA today and I got (4) of the colgate. When my receipt printed I got (4) $3.50 ups and (1) $10 up. Then I remembered that last week I bought 6 thermacare for a total of $36. I got (1) $10 up last week, I guess I hit my second $25 purchase for colgate/thermacare/advil/rob this morning!

Greg February 16, 2012 at 10:33 pm

Thanks for the match up Josie. I got .50/1 colgate q’s in my 1/29 ss out of the la times instead of the .35/1. Which is awesome cause i used all 6 of my .75/1 q’s from last week at CVS to get free toothpaste to donate. Now I’ll have like 15 tubes to donate, yay!!!

There is a $2/1 Advil mq from 12/11 rp expires 03/04 or if you get the LA TIMES 2 or 3 weeks ago, there was a $2 mq too.

I didn’t get the Colgate Mail in rebate so I’m not sure what the fine print says, but can it be used on this Colgate deal? If it can be used if anyone has an extra MIR I have an extra Pfizer rebate that I would love to trade for.

Let us know if the deal for ADVIL, DIMETAPP, and ROBITUSSIN qualifies for the double dip –> Weekly $10 and Monthly $10

Reply

meryl February 17, 2012 at 8:10 am

I will ck barstow mom- it was in an insert right? I get several papers each week. I was hoping to do the softsoap deal at cvs this week and use a MIR which is an insanely inexpensive price for soap. 50 cents for a 3 pak.!

EXACTLY how does the $20 UP work for the Buy & Save items? At the bottom of the ad in fine print it says it expires 3/17/12. Does that mean you have to buy $100 worth of items before 3/17 or that you have to buy AND USE the $20 UP reward by 3/17?

Reply

Elizarae February 17, 2012 at 9:06 am

@Brittnee – You have until 3/3/12 to spend the $100 and get your $20 +Up reward, which will expire on 3/17/12.

I just got back from Rite Aid. When I checked my receipt it said $25 Advil $10 +UP Total $24.00. Could it be a glitch since I haven’t bought any advil products. I only bought colgate and vaseline. My total kept going up after each transaction.

Reply

Stacy February 17, 2012 at 11:15 am

@Gaby
I think that’s from purchasing Colgate toothpaste & toothbrush. The total of those 8 items are $24. I have the same thing on my receipt too.

Reply

Gaby February 17, 2012 at 9:59 am

@Gaby – Just found out it’s a monthly deal on the colgate softsoap. Wish I would have known that before.

And second for third and so on?

jos February 17, 2012 at 10:36 am

wow..cant wait to go do these deals plus i have earned my $20 up rewards already so can do all in one transaction yipeee

Reply

K February 17, 2012 at 10:37 am

@Sara
Yes- you can roll at Rite Aid (and CVS, just NOT Walgreens) but if you use coupons to make the Colgate a moneymaker, you need to have something else with it otherwise your coupon & UPs will be more than your next total.

WARNING!!
The $15 Up Rewars (from reading glassees) are scanning $7.50 this morning. I used one yesterday evening, and that scanned $15, however, I used 2 this morning and they both scanned $7.50 each!

Josie February 17, 2012 at 10:47 am

Reply

Stacy February 17, 2012 at 10:54 am

The store manager didn’t understand why…so she adjusted it back to $15 for me, but you should hurry and use them up.

Carmen February 17, 2012 at 11:25 am

There is also a $10 that printed from the Colgate besides the $3.50 each:) I did awesome deals this week!the cashier gave me a look because I used my 2 $20 from last week and only paid tax for everything, but o well!should I stop going to that one for a while?

I just got back Rite Aid and the 32 inch HD TV is $249.99. I just bought a 32 inch TV from WalMart last week for $2.68.00 (I really needed an extra TV in one of the rooms). If I would have just waited I could have gotten the Rite Aid one for $200.00 with my 20% off discount and I could have used the $40.00 in up rewards that I currently have and I would have saved $100.00.

KMom February 19, 2012 at 2:51 pm

Ooh! I didn’t know RA sold TVs! We need one to replace our dinosaur and will have to check this out. Thanks!

Went to rite aid for the deal this morning on the advil and other things. There was a retraction about the 10up+ after 30 deal. It became 10/25 which aligns with the monthly deal that includes colgate, so it all becomes the same as opposed to a double dip.

Becky February 17, 2012 at 4:17 pm

no problem…@Josie -

I got the double dip. But you have to buy advil for it to work.

Thanks, Kim. Do you mind listing the exact Advil products (varieties/sizes/prices) you bought?

Kim February 17, 2012 at 6:29 pm

@ Mary I bought two advil congestions and four robutussins. Each were $4.99. i had to break it up because the clerk said I couldn’t buy more than three robutussins because its a controlled substance.

Greg February 17, 2012 at 8:02 pm

Not at all. You are not doing anything wrong, you are just getting good deals on stuff. I used to get “the look” too, but now the cashiers know me and they get excited to see what I’m going to get free. @Carmen -

@Kim – I bought 3 children’s advil and 3 advil congestion and didn’t receive the double dip. I was wondering if I didn’t because 6@$4.99 is technically $0.06 short of $30.00. Is it worth going back to the store?

Did anyone else’s Colgate ring up as $2.49? I bought ones with an added ‘dry mouth bottle’ bonus on it (and used the 75 cent q) and I got a $3.50 + up!

Reply

Mary February 19, 2012 at 2:30 pm

I bought those Gum Defense ones with the the dry mouth wash attached as well (they also qualify toward Diabetes member purchases), but mine rang up at $3.50. Nice to have the bonus, anyway. :)

I wanted to mention a decent deal I did today at Rite Aid with the recent Nature Made $5 printable coupons. Select Nature Made are BOGO-50% off, plus get $5 +UP wyb $20.

I bought (2) 180-count bottles of Nature Made organic flax oil soft gels, 17.99 (second one was 8.99).
Used 2 $5 coupons.
Pay $17 (I had +UPs to spend, so I needed nothing out of pocket)
Get back $5 +UP
= $12 for both, or $6 each

These were also part of the Buy & Save promo. But I had actually already earned my $20 +UP for that, and was looking for a good way to spend it! This worked well for me, because I was nearly out of flax oils anyway and 3 of us here take them. These 180-count bottles run about $14.50 each at Target regularly, so $6 each is a good price. And I’m that much closer to Gold. :)

Hey Mary! I am almost ready to break down and do this same deal at RA tonight as tomorrow it is bogof.

I got a rain ck from CVS last week as this vitamin was part of the spend $30 get back a $10 gift card and it was bogof.

I was going to use my $3 off $15 from facebook and all 4 of my $5 off coups, but I cannot find stock on these even tho I have the rain ck. I am also having some issues with them taking more than 1 $5 coup- and I know this will not be a prob at RA while it is BOGO 50%.

One manager at CVS offered to do it with 3 bottles, using this week’s sale price of 25% off , but would only take one coup. This is so frustrating- he said the coupon says only one per purchase- and not per item.

Oh, and I also got 2- $2 off any Nature Made vitamins from the Magic red coupon machine so this may be the best deal I can swing. And I’ll get the $10 gc back……I have been to 4 stores trying so far. :(

Megan February 19, 2012 at 10:18 pm

@Kim – I bought 3 Advil congestions and 2 Robitussins, so it was just over $25. So, I’m not sure double dipping would work unless I go back and get 1 more product. However, there is nothing except the $10/$25 Advil deal tracking at the bottom of my receipt. Did you have the $10/$20 tracking on your receipt for it to work?

Anyone have an extra rebate form? I would appercaite it!

Reply

Kim February 23, 2012 at 5:35 pm

@Julie and Megan: sorry didn’t check for a few days. I think the deal only worked Friday because when I did it again on Saturday i only got one $10UP.
