San Diego Rite Aid Shoppers: No more Friday Sales

I have heard quite a few rumors that Rite Aid was going to change over the So Cal Rite Aid ads to Sun-Saturday sales like everyone else in the country but I wasn’t sure what the details were.

I was able to get a hold of my Rite Aid PR contact and he informed me of the following:

Eric Harkreader  | Specialist-Public Relations | Rite Aid Corporation

So, it appears that only the San Diego area will be effected by this change effective Aug 12th.

Is the Los Angeles area going to go to Sunday—Saturday anytime soon?

I asked specifically for all of Southern California and he only told me that San Diego will be transitioning. Hope that helps!

Airnay, This is only for one area of Southern California. I do not live in the San Diego area, so the Friday updates and early previews will continue :)

I was prepared for this since the rumor had been floating around for sometime in August for the dates to change. I asked CS several times and they were clueless about it. Thanks Josie for comfirming this for us. I wonder how long it will take for this change to effect all the areas in SoCal.

Does anyone have any idea why So Cal has been on a different schedule all this time in the first place?? I’ve always wondered but couldn’t think of a reason.

I was shopping at RiteAid this week and the manager and the employees all looked really grim. They were talking about a bad benefits package renewal, possible strike and some slower stores closing. Not Good.

It will now be less confusing. I’m not disappointed. I can do all my shopping on Sunday now, instead of burning more gas to go to rite aid

I wonder if this means that area will get 2 extra days of that weeks sales…the prior sale will end on Thursday the 9th and for the rest of SoCal the next one starts the 10th. I wonder if they’ll start on the 10th as well since the change doesn’t take affect until the 12th…if so they’ll get 2 extra days to shop that week’s sale.
