My Name is Josie and I live in sunny Southern California and I am a stay at home mom to three beautiful boys. We all know that living in California is a task of it's own and saving in California IS possible! I started this blog mainly to share all the awesome deals out there and show others how to save in any area of life. Even though you may make the commitment to be frugal and pinch your pennies doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice!
I have a question….I’m going to give RA a third try at a different store (2 very bad experiences)……how come the current ad ends today, but the new one doesn’t start until sunday? is there something really cool going on for the 14th and 15th??????
some socal the sales start tomorrow..everywhere else on sunday
oh, ok, tyvm
I gave up and Rite Aid for a bit too but don’t be discouraged sometimes they are really nice. Hence SOMETIMES.
Josie, if I did the Revlon deal twice last week, can I do it again or is it the same deal?
I’m wondering this too. I’m not 100% sure because my tags in-store show that it is a weekly deal.. not a monthly one.
It’s a monthly :-/ I was really bummed to get my “You’ve earned the maximum number of +UPs for this reward.”
Can someone explain to me exactly what the two $4 UPs are for?
you tested this deal for the new week? it could be a limit of two per week. That would be way you reached your limit.
so since the +up rewards load up on our card, i haven’t been able to choose when and what nest transaction i wasnt to use my rewards towards it just automatically uses it on the next purchase. I don’t really like this.
i hate it too good thing i was able to opt out already
That’s exactly why I opted out before my first purchase after the changes took place. Thankfully Josie forewarned us so we knew to plan ahead for it.
I actually had a cashier at the one i’m going to go to now, the other one was just rude…….she said…..Don’t scan your card at all until the end…..have them ring everything up, hand over all your q’s and then scan your card…..she said if you scan your card first, it will automatically take off any +ups you have on there…..and by doing that, there may be some instances where you won’t even be able to use the paper q’s you have if you’ve got lots of +ups on the card…….make sense?
I think this assumption is wrong. Today, after paper Qs and two $4 Loaded +Ups, my total was $0.96 before tax. By mistake I used an additional paper +Up for $1 that had been mailed to me from Rite Aid customer service and it bumped one of the $4 Loaded +Ups off making the total before tax $3.96.
Based on this, my assumption is the computer will load as many Loaded +Ups on as possible but then unload them if you have paper Qs, etc.
So far, I’m liking it for the way I shop at Rite Aid – I very rarely do multiple transactions in one day and my local Rite Aid is usually a hassle with coupons so its one less thing to worry about. We’ll see if I change my mind over time.
Eric,
+Ups don’t usually deduct tax, so if your total was $0.96 (before tax) and you added a $1 +Up, then the computer would have kicked out one of your other +Ups because you were $0.04 short. Hope that helps =)
Not a fan either. I tried to opt out at the register, but they didn’t know how. I made a purchase and had coupons, but the register automatically took off my total with ALL my UP rewards… I didn’t get to use any coupons
I was so sad!
Just do it through the chat on their site..no hassle at all.Super easy and better then dealing with some cashiers.
I tried to opt out at the register and they told me there was no option…Should’ve called before
I had no problem doing it at the register as per the online instructions to do just that when load 2card was down just before go live…just call customer service and have them do it for you.
Do the chat online, Super easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Opting out through online chat is MUCH faster than calling customer service. Expect wait time if you call. I opted out thru chat the other morning and my UPs started printing that afternoon. I’m almost positive it’s effective right away but just didn’t experience it myself. While my co-worker called and didn’t get the print until after the next day. Although they’ll tell you to expect at least up to 48 hrs for it to take effect.
At the register it was immediate…She opted out 4 me and then did my transaction and the +Ups printed with no problem
The cashiers can do it, though a lot are not trained. Most managers are though.
Instructions to give cashier.
Press Shift+Esc
Choose +UP Options
Enter Card Number/ Phone Number
Select Print
Press Update (or something like it)
And you should be set.
You can also opt out using chat online on riteaid site. Fast and easy.
thank you! doing that now!
pretty sure I saw a coupon for the hersheys Simple Pleasures in the Rite Aid Flu Shot Booklet.
Where can i find that book, there’s none here in San Diego. Well, at least the stores I have been too.
I asked the cashiers at both stores closest to me and they had no idea what i was talking about, then i finally asked the pharmacist and they handed me one like they do it all the time. Try the pharmacy : )
yes pharmacy if they still have them.
Quick Question i get the LA times in Rialto was this coupon in that paper?
$5/1 Revlon Foundation, Powder, Primer, Blush or Concealer, exp. 10/14/12 (SS
09/09/12)
Yes, the $5 Revlon coupon was in the LA Times
Got one in Rancho Cucamonga, so I’m guessing you have it too.
I can’t find the Biore coupon on their facebook page.
Is the final price listed above for the Duracell batteries a pretty good deal? Batteries are one item for which I have not been able to figure out what is a good price.
All the batteries at my store had $1 RA peelies on them so combined with the MQ it’s a pretty good deal.
I just bought the 8pk Duracell batteries, they have $1 peelies on and they have coupons inside. I paid 2.49
is anyone else having trouble finding the $1/1 Kleenex Cottonelle CleanCare, Ultra or Kleenex Cottonelle Flushable Moist Wipes (RA Video Values, Sept) ???? I don’t see it on the rite aid video section!
Oh and the biore coupon is gone already.
Today I bought 2 cans of Folger’s Coffee (big cans) and used (2) $1/1 MQ’s that were from my Vallarta grocery ad and it double dipped. I got back (2) $2 +ups and (1) $3 +up so it was like paying $4.49 each. I also bought Advil Migraine $3.49 – $1/1 printable from the Advil website and submitted for the $2 SCR and I have tracking towards the monthly $10 +ip wyb $30 of Advil, Thermacare etc, products.
How long do you think the $3 +up will print? I’m not in CA, but do you think it will work for me Sunday? Thanks!
The $3 +up for Folgers is a monthly deal so it’s good all month and will work on Sunday.
thanks
I am new shopping at Rite Aid and I am confused about my receipt. Today I did the Pro Glide deal + Aquafresh Kids Toothpaste + Whipped Creme Make up, OOP $11.65 including taxes and all my UPs rang up correctly. My question is: on the bottom of my receipt it reads $10 Revlon Face and Lip $4+UP total $0.98 and $25 Colgate Pfizer $10+UP total $6.97. Does it mean if I spend $0.98 in Revlon products, I get $4 UP? And is it the same thing for the Colgate? I would appreciate any help. Thanks.
That’s tracking on your receipt so if you have $0.98 for Revlon you would need to spend another $9.02 to reach $10 for a $4 +up. For the Pfizer you have $6.97 tracking so you’d have to spend another $18.03 for the $10 +up. The Pfizer products include Advil, Thermacare etc
That is great information. Thanks very much for your help.
I’d like to get two Revlon foundation the one that I want is 12.99 so it’s about 19.49 for two. Anybody know will I get two ups or just one (buy $10 get $4 up deal)?
You’ll only get 1 $4 UP with this scenario. Your total should be $20 or higher in order to get 2 $4 UP.
