Vons: FREE Mr. Clean Products + Cheap Cleaning Supplies!

There are a couple of great freebies at Vons through 2/26! I want to warn you though–my store is very nice about adjusting coupons down to match the price of the item–and giving it to me for free. Not all stores are like this–so you may have issues doing the following transactions–BUT even if you do not use the coupons–the items are still cheap without.

Select Mr. Clean products are part of the Buy 3, Save $3 deal at Vons. The Mr. Clean cleaning supplies are priced as low as $0.29 after discount. There are also several other items that are cheap as well:

Dawn Steel Mesh Scrubbers (3ct) $0.49 wyb 3

Ultra Sparkle Bob (scrubber) $0.29 ea wyb 3

Mr. Clean Premium Resuable Wipes (6ct) $0.29 ea wyb 3
Use $0.50/1 Mr. Clean Product, exp. 2/28/13 (P&G 01/27/13)
= as low as free if your store adjusts the coupon down

Mr. Clean Cellulose Sponge Cloth $0.29 wyb 3
Use $0.50/1 Mr. Clean Product, exp. 2/28/13 (P&G 01/27/13)
= as low as free if your store adjusts coupon

Ultra Stainless Steel Scrubber $0.29 ea wyb 3

My advice is to pick your cashiers carefully. I know the ones who never give me problems, but had to push to get the Alexia fry deal the other day with a supervisor, when I told her adjust it down for the (fricking) penny. You would have thought I was acting for a mountain to be moved. I groaned when I realized she was my only choice.

I second this advice! Two of my Vons cashiers are very nice and helpful, one lady is extremely rude when it comes to coupons, and most of the other cashiers just get confused and don’t know what to do. Going through the line of a coupon-savvy cashier makes all the difference!

Sounds like your stores need a little nudging towards their policy. Years ago, up here, in Safeway land, they tried that, but after a call to their regional marketing director, things were fixed …even until today.

(the second part of rule #1 applies)
    http://www.vons.com/IFL/Grocery/Coupons-Policy

    Manufacturer and Store Coupons:
    1. We will redeem coupons only for the specific items included in our customer’s purchase transaction. The redemption value will be as stated on the coupon, unless that value yields a final price for such item less than zero; if application of the redemption value yields a price less than zero, the coupon will be redeemed only for the amount that yields a zero price (our customer cannot net a cash credit or payout from a coupon purchase).

Thanks Bob, I am gonna start carrying it again. I just had to tell two cashiers they can take a Catalina from another store ’cause it’s a manufacturer coupon

Well, when I tried to get the Alexia potatoes it wouldn’t scan and I had another cashier, might have even been a manager, say that they are no longer taking printable coupons! She said it came out in some of their info about 6 months ago. My cashier thought that if they scanned they’d take them but she said they still weren’t suppose to. I didn’t bother to even ask to adjust it down, just took the pot. off the transaction. YMMV tremendously.

My store will still take internet printed coupons, but only if they scan. They no longer just push them through. My store didn’t have any Mr Clean sponges or scrubbers, but I got 3 pack of the Dawn scrubbers (two different types) for $1.47 and I had a $1.25 Cat from last week. So I paid .22 before tax. Now i guess I need to start cleaning something!! LOL!!

My store only had the Dawn scrubbers too! Bought 3 and used my $1.50 catalina from the soup add a valentines candy to the order too. My Vons still has not gotten the Windex touch up cleaner. The manager told me they would not have it in. I asked why is it advertised? He said its the same ad for everyone and he can’t control it. He would not write a rain check.

Is ‘buy 3, save $3′ mix and match or of the same kind? Thanks!

Thanks a lot. I don’t have Vons near me but I went Safeway and they have the same deals. Mr. clean coupons are not scanning but the cashier was nice and she pushed it without adjusting. I had other items to cover the overge. I bought Mr.Clean wipes, clothes, scrubbers .
    Thanks for posting this

I didn’t have the coupons on me but $0.29 wasn’t a big deal to me. I had loaded the Mr. Clean MQ on Just For U and it didn’t come off. Maybe that is why the coupons beeps? I am going to pick up more for my in laws. I’ve been meaning to go to the store, but I get so lazy sometimes =P

Tip: I almost abandoned the hunt for the Mr Clean items, but they are stocked over by the mops and not by the general cleaning items. So head farther down the aisle (it was at the end on the opposite side of the cleaning aisle)
